Johns Hopkins rolls to win

Blue Jays drop four games in singles play

WESTMINSTER, Md. – Jeffrey Kamei did not lose a game in a 2-0 day to lead No. 8 Johns Hopkins to a 9-0 win over McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) men's tennis action on Wednesday.

The Blue Jays (10-4, 4-0 CC) won four of the singles matches without dropping a game after Kamei and Morgan Dauer keyed a sweep of doubles with an 8-0 victory in the third slot.

Kamei led the way in singles with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 6 singles while Dauer won 8-0 at fourth singles and Michael Chang took a 6-0, 6-0 victory in the No. 3 slot.

Ben Faber (Wayne, Pa./Conestoga) and Dan Hovorka (Storrs, Conn./E.O. Smith) took the only games at singles for the Green Terror (3-6, 0-4 CC). Faber dropped a 6-1, 6-1 decision at No. 1 while Hovorka fell 6-0, 6-2 at No. 2.

McDaniel returns to action at home against Dickinson on Saturday. Match time is 1 p.m.
