Seventh-ranked Blue Jays win 17th straight over Green
Terror
BALTIMORE, Md. – Dave Kahn went 2-for-3
with two RBIs and a run scored to lead No. 7 Johns Hopkins to a 7-3
victory over McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) baseball action
on Thursday.
The Blue Jays (15-3, 4-0 CC) scored all seven of their runs in
the first five innings to build a 7-1 lead en route to their 17th
consecutive victory in the series.
Brandon Kline (Myersville, Md./Middletown)
rapped out two hits for the Green Terror (5-8, 1-4 CC), including a
home run to lead off the game.
Trailing 1-0 on the Kline long ball to left, Matthew
Bernardi led off the home first with a single before an
error, walk and sacrifice fly evened the game.
A Brendan Walsh one-out home run in the bottom
of the second broke the deadlock before James Teta
singled and scored on a Chris Huisman single for a
3-1 advantage.
A two-out walk to Lee Bolyward and Walsh RBI
single stretched the lead to 4-1 an inning later before a Kahn
two-run home run in the fourth made it a 6-1 game.
Teta drove in Bolyard in the fifth for a 7-1 advantage.
Tyler Jackow (Colonia, N.J./Colonia) drew a
leadoff walk in the seventh before scoring on a Kline RBI ground
out.
A Kline double and Andrew Worm (Easton,
Md./Easton) RBI groundout in the ninth set the final
margin.
