Fry wins twice in final regular-season meet for Green
Terror
WESTMINSTER, Md. - Melanie Craig won a pair of
individual events to lead Washington (Md.) to a 64-30 victory over
McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) women's swimming action on
Monday.
Jessica Fry (St. Mary's, Ga./Camden County) won
twice to pace the Green Terror (1-9, 0-7 CC) in the final dual meet
of the season.
Rachel Glasser, Jenna Moore and Amy
Smith also won twice for the Shoremen (8-2, 4-2 CC), who
won the first nine events of the meet.
Smith, Moore, Glasser and Cassie Peart teamed
to win the 200 medley relay in the first event of the night,
touching in a time of 1:58.75.
Smith added a win in the 500 freestyle (5:39.30) while Moore and
Glasser touched first in the 100 freestyle (58.97) and 200 IM
(2:15.99), respectively.
Craig was victorious in the 200 freestyle (2:10.54) and 100
butterfly (1:05.48).
Fry won the 200 breaststroke in a time of 2:39.08 before as part
of the 200 freestyle relay, which was victorious in a time of
1:48.26.
Rachel Walega (Ambler, Pa./Wissahickon),
Alyssa Romasco (Gilbertsville, Pa./Perkiomen) and
Suzanne Stettinius (Parkton, Md./Hereford) joined
Fry on the winning relay.
The Green Terror returns to action at the CC championships
hosted by Franklin & Marshall on Feb. 18-20. Action begins at 6
p.m. on Friday.
