Diplomats notch three pool records in win
WESTMINSTER, Md. - Matt Jaffee won a pair of
events, setting Harlow Pool records in both events to lead Franklin
& Marshall to a 58-27 Centennial Conference (CC) men's swimming
victory over McDaniel on Friday.
Jaffee teamed with Tom Grabiak, David
Apple and Zach Wilt to lead the Diplomats
(3-2, 3-0 CC) to a pool-record time of 1:39.89 in the meet-opening
200 medley relay.
Stephen Gomez (Charlottesville,
Va./Albermarle) touched first in the 400 IM in a time of
4:26.77 to lead Green Terror (0-6, 0-5 CC), who won three events in
the meet.
Jono Leafblad (Garnee, Ill./Warren Twp.) added
a victory in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:05.31.
Wes Henry (Greencastle, Pa./Perkiomen),
Morgan DeHart (Salisbury, Md./Wiciomico),
Chris Steinheimer (Monrovia, Md./Urbana) and
Chris Bosco (Vienna, Va./James Madison) capped the
meet with a win in the 200 freestyle relay (1:37.87).
Jaffee added a second pool record, finishing the 100 backstroke
in a time of 53.77 seconds while Graviak accounted for the third
pool record in the 100 breaststroke (58.83).
The Green Terror returns to action at Elizabethtown on
Wednesday. Meet time is 6 p.m.
