Fry, Walega win twice to pace Green Terror in first action of
2010
CARLISLE, Pa. - A pair of Dickinson swimmers won twice to lead
the team in a 124-54 victory over McDaniel in Centennial Conference
(CC) women's swimming action on Saturday.
Jessica Fry (St. Mary's, Ga./Camden County)
notched a pair of individual victories to pace the Green Terror
(1-5, 0-4 CC), who won four events on the afternoon.
The Red Devils (4-2, 2-1 CC) won seven of the first nine events
to move over .500 in conference competition.
After Betsy Mullally, Rachel
Wolfe, Maky Sullivan and Jessica
Hassinger notched a victory in the 200 medley relay with a
time of 2:00.97, Fry recorded her first win of the afternoon,
touching first in the 1,000 free (10:55.77). She later was
victorious in the 200 IM with a time of 2:22.57.
Rachel Walega (Ambler, Pa./Wissahickon) added
an individual win, touching first in the 100 breaststroke with a
time of 1:10.21. She was also part of the 200 freestyle relay that
capped the meet with a win in a time of 1:51.19.
Suzanne Stettinius (Parkton, Md./Hereford),
Alyssa Romasco (Gilbertsville, Pa./Perkiomen) and
Andrea Mills (Laurel, Md./Laurel) joined Walega on
the relay team.
Sullivan also the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:05.22 while
Hassinger won the 50 freestyle in a time of 25.58.
The Green Terror returns to action at home against Franklin
& Marshall on Friday. Meet time is 6 p.m.
