WESTMINSTER, Md. – Brittany Baer (Westminster,
Md./Westminster) netted three goals to lead McDaniel to a
15-1 victory over Bryn Mawr in Centennial Conference (CC)
women's lacrosse action on Saturday.
The win coupled with Muhlenberg's 16-12 win over Washington
gives the Green Terror (9-7, 5-3 CC) the No. 5 seed in next
week's conference tournament and a trip to Carlisle for a
rematch with Dickinson in the first-round game on Wednesday. Game
time will be announced on Monday.
Nine other players tallied for McDaniel, including three other
players with two goals.
Natalie Chrismer scored the lone goal for the Owls
(3-12, 0-9 CC), who were outshot 34-15 in the game.
Lindsey McDonald (Germantown, Md./Damascus)
tallied twice in the first 2:31 of the game for her two goals of
the game.
Stephanie Serbun (Abington, Pa./Abington)
stretched the lead to 3-0 52 seconds later with the first of her
two markers.
Two straight Baer goals followed by back-to-back tallies from
Jennifer Stone (Baltimore, Md./Loch Raven) pushed
the lead to 7-0 with just 10:13 elapsed.
Baer completed her 15th hat trick of the season by the
16:39 mark.
Kelly Scheler (Forest Hill, Md./C. Milton Wright)
and Serbun made it a 10-0 game at halftime.
A Kristin Mele (Ellicott City, Md./River Hill)
free-position goal made it 11-0 just 40 seconds into the second
half.
Lisa Jurd (Columbia, Md./Hammond) and
Stephanie Sudbrook (Baltimore, Md./Loch Raven)
swelled the lead to 13-0 before Chrismer broke up the shutout with
5:06 to play.
Ceri Miller (East Brunswick, N.J./East Brunswick)
and Michelle Fluty (Huntingtown, Md./Calvert),
playing in the final home game of their collegiate careers, rounded
out the scoring. For Miller, it was her first collegiate goal. For
Fluty, it was her first of the season and the third of her
career.
McDonald and Stone added two assists to their two
goals.
