FREDERICK, Md. – Dan Hovorka (Storrs, Conn./E.O.
Smith) won both of his matches to lead McDaniel to a 5-4
victory over Hood in non-conference men's tennis action on
Monday.
The Green Terror (2-1) took two of the three doubles matches en
route to a victory in its opening match of the spring.
Carter Reitman led the Blazers (3-10) with a pair
of wins.
Hovorka teamed with Ben Faber (Wayne,
Pa./Conestoga) to win at No. 1 doubles, 8-5. Hovorka added
a 6-0, 7-6 (8-6) victory at the top singles.
Adrian Pettaway (Forestville, Md./Suitland) added
two wins, teaming with Justin Ward for an 8-4 win
at No. 3 doubles before winning 6-4, 6-7 (6-8), 10-5 at fourth
singles.
Reitman won by forfeit at No. 2 doubles before taking No. 2
singles, 6-4, 6-2.
McDaniel returns to action at Swarthmore on Saturday. Match time is
12 p.m.
