Green Terror falls to Susquehanna, downs Juniata
SELINSGROVE, Pa. - Rachel Walega (Ambler,
Pa./Wissahickon) won three times to lead McDaniel to a
split in season-opening women's swimming action on Saturday.
The Green Terror (1-1) downed Juniata 79-31 and fell to
Susquehanna 75-46 in a tri-meet at Susquehanna.
Walega took individual victories in the 100 and 200
breaststrokes, touching first in times of 1:12.24 and 2:29.56,
respectively. She also anchored the 200 freestyle relay, which won
with a time of 1:51.33.
Jessica Fry (St. Mary's, Ga./Camden County)
added a pair of wins, touching first in the 1,000 freestyle
(11:14.58) and earning the victory in the 200 IM (2:26.75).
Megan Giroux (Damascus, Md./Damascus),
Gaby Cifuentes (Princeton, N.J./Princeton) and
Alyssa Romasco (Gilbertsville, Pa./Perkiomen)
joined Walega on the winning relay.
Devin Lassard recorded three wins for
Susquehanna. She was part of the meet-opening 200 medley relay win
(1:58.49) and swam to individual victories in the 200 butterfly
(2:13.68) and 500 freestyle (5:26.88).
The Green Terror opens the Centennial Conference schedule at
home against Swarthmore on Saturday. Meet time is 2 p.m.
