WESTMINSTER, Md. – The non-conference women's soccer
game on Tuesday between McDaniel and Juniata was cancelled and will
not be rescheduled.
With the game tied at 1 and 36:53 remaining in regulation, the
teams were pulled off the field with lightning in the
area.
After a 1-hour, 20-minute delay, the two teams were ready to retake
the field to attempt to get the contest to at least the 70-minute
mark and make it an official game but another lightning strike
forced the officials to call the game.
Per NCAA regulations, because the contest did not reach its
reasonable point of conclusion no statistics from the game count in
the records of either team.
The Green Terror (4-5) returns to action at Swarthmore on Saturday.
Game time is 7 p.m.
