FREDERICK, Md. – Kimberly Kaim scored
twice as part of a three-goal first half to lead Mississippi
College to a 3-0 victory over McDaniel in season opening
women's soccer action on the first day of the Hood Tournament
on Saturday.
The Choctaws (1-0) scored three times in a 16-minute span and
Leanne Hollinger (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill)
held the line in goal with a career-high 23 saves for the Green
Terror (0-1), who were outshot 26-3 on the day.
After Heather Roberson staked Mississippi to a 1-0
lead off a Kasey Ambrose feed in the
28th minute, Kaim tallied 11 minutes apart for the final
margin.
Kaim finished a Roni Salens assist in the
33rd minute before giving Ambrose her second helper of
the day in the 44th minute.
Brittany Baer (Westminster, Md./Westminster)
tallied two of McDaniel's three shots.
The Green Terror returns to action in the consolation game of the
Hood Tournament against the host Blazers on Sunday. Game time is
10:30 a.m.
