McDaniel breaks drought in Washington win

WESTMINSTER, Md. – Four different McDaniel players recorded a goal and Kristin Cochran (Jessup, Md./Hammond) notched her first collegiate win in goal as part of a 4-0 win over Washington (Md.) in Centennial Conference (CC) action on Saturday.

After the Green Terror (5-10, 2-6 CC) saw its scoreless stretch reach more than 500 minutes and its starting goalkeeper out of the game after receiving a red card, McDaniel exploded for four second-half goals to snap a five-game skid.
Tori Ripple made three saves in goal for the Shorewomen (1-14, 0-8 CC) while Cochran made two saves in 45 minutes, 36 seconds of time in goal. Leanne Hollinger (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) made one save in the first 44:24.
Dribbling in from the left side, Rachel McCallum (Brunswick, Md./Brunswick) snapped the Green Terror's drought, which was at 469:07 entering the game, at 529:19.
Just 1 minute, 10 seconds later, Brittany Baer (Westminster, Md./Westminster) found Lisa Jurd (Columbia, Md./Hammond) to double the advantage.
In the 70th minute, Baer tallied her team-leading seventh goal of the season after beating two defenders and the goalkeeper.
Brittany Fry (Danville, Pa./Bloomsburg) finished a Melanie Armstrong (Mt. Sinai, N.Y./Mt. Sinai) assist at the 78:56 mark.
McDaniel finished with a 11-4 advantage in shots and 10-2 edge in corners.
The Green Terror concludes the home schedule against No. 7 Johns Hopkins on Tuesday. Game time is 4 p.m.
