WESTMINSTER, Md. – Four different McDaniel players
recorded a goal and Kristin Cochran (Jessup,
Md./Hammond) notched her first collegiate win in goal as
part of a 4-0 win over Washington (Md.) in Centennial Conference
(CC) action on Saturday.
After the Green Terror (5-10, 2-6 CC) saw its scoreless stretch
reach more than 500 minutes and its starting goalkeeper out of the
game after receiving a red card, McDaniel exploded for four
second-half goals to snap a five-game skid.
Tori Ripple made three saves in goal for the
Shorewomen (1-14, 0-8 CC) while Cochran made two saves in 45
minutes, 36 seconds of time in goal. Leanne Hollinger
(Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) made one save in the first
44:24.
Dribbling in from the left side, Rachel McCallum
(Brunswick, Md./Brunswick) snapped the Green
Terror's drought, which was at 469:07 entering the game, at
529:19.
Just 1 minute, 10 seconds later, Brittany Baer
(Westminster, Md./Westminster) found Lisa Jurd
(Columbia, Md./Hammond) to double the
advantage.
In the 70th minute, Baer tallied her team-leading
seventh goal of the season after beating two defenders and the
goalkeeper.
McDaniel finished with a 11-4 advantage in shots and 10-2 edge in
corners.
The Green Terror concludes the home schedule against No. 7 Johns
Hopkins on Tuesday. Game time is 4 p.m.
