Thomas Mezzullo was named Centennial Conference Athlete of the Week on Tuesday.
Mezzullo is the second Green Terror to earn conference weekly honors this season after first-year
Luke Wood was named pitcher of the week on March 24. Mezzullo is the first player to earn Athlete of the Week honors since current assistant coach
Joey Hubinger on April 30, 2024.
McDaniel has had seven player of the week selections in five seasons under head coach
Jim Carone.
Mezzullo hit .857 as McDaniel went 4-0 last week, going 15-for-20 with three doubles, one triple, and three home runs for a 1.450 slugging percentage and a .739 on-base percentage. He also notched 12 RBIs and scored nine times. He registered at least three hits, one RBI, and one run scored in all four games of series sweeps over No. 18 Gettysburg and Muhlenberg.
In game one against Muhlenberg, Mezzullo was just a double shy of hitting for the cycle, going 5-for-5 with two singles, a triple, and two home runs with six RBIs and four runs scored.
Sitting in second place in the conference standings, McDaniel begins a two-game series against Dickinson this afternoon at Preston Field. First pitch is at 3:30 p.m.
