KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Five players on the McDaniel College men's basketball team were honored by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) on Thursday as members of the 2024-25 NABC Honors Court.
The NABC Honors Court honors junior, senior, and graduate students who finished the 2024-25 academic year with a cumulative grade-point average (GPA) of 3.2 or higher. Senior
Lorin Hall was selected for the second-straight year and was joined by juniors
David Kearney,
Jonas Sujeta,
Kevin Connelly, and
Matt Kearney.
The Green Terror have had nine NABC Honors Court selections over the last three seasons.
Hall graduated on May 23 with a bachelor's degree in business administration and a 3.285 GPA. He appeared in 25 of the team's 27 games while making 24 starts and averaging 5.5 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game, all career highs, and was named to the 2025 Centennial Conference All-Sportsmanship Team.
Kearney is also a business administration major who has a 3.238 GPA. This season, he was the only player to start all 27 of the team's games and averaged 10.9 points and a team-high 5.9 rebounds. He also led the team with 19 blocks and was second with 21 steals. On Feb. 8, he totaled his fifth career double double with 24 points and a career-high 19 rebounds in a 70-57 win at Haverford.
Sujeta has a 3.373 GPA as double major in accounting and business administration. He was named All-Centennial Conference Honorable Mention after leading the team in scoring with 15.2 points per game, a mark that ranked seventh in the Centennial Conference. He also averaged 4.9 rebounds per game while shooting 53.2 percent from the floor, the third-best mark in the conference.
Connelly led the team with a 3.771 GPA as a marketing major. He also had a career year on the court, appearing in 26 games with 25 starts and averaging 5.3 points and 3.4 rebounds while making 31 three-pointers, all career highs. He posted his first career double double with 14 points and 10 rebounds while making four three-pointers in a 91-70 win over Regent on Dec. 7.
Kearney is second on the team with a 3.759 GPA as a biology major. He also had a career year, playing 26 games and averaging 3.0 points and 1.9 rebounds, all career highs. He scored a career-high 11 points twice with both coming against Johns Hopkins on Jan. 22 and Feb. 12.
