WESTMINSTER, Md. - Senior
David Kearney totaled 21 points and seven rebounds to lead the McDaniel College men's basketball team to an 84-55 win over Central Penn in the tean's season opener Tuesday night inside the Gill Center.
The win marked the seventh consecutive season the Green Terror (1-0) have won their home opener, a streak dating back to Nov. 12, 2018.
McDaniel started the contest on a 7-0 run, punctuated by a three-pointer from Kearney. Another three from sophomore
Ashen Stuart grew the lead to 11, a lead the Green Terror would grow to 13 with 6:32 left in the first half. A three-pointer from Stuart made the margin 18 but a buzzer-beating three from the Knights (0-3) made the score 45-30 at the end of the half.

Anthony Hallconverted on an and-one to give McDaniel a 34-point lead, its largest of the night.
Four players finished in double figures for the Green Terror, including junior
Bruce Black who scored 16 points in his first game with the program. Senior
Matt Kearney scored 12 points off the bench and connected on all six of his free throw attempts while Stuart had 10 points and eight rebounds.
The Green Terror controlled the boards, out-rebounding the Knights 54-23 and making 74.1 percent of their foul shots. McDaniel made nearly 46 percent of its field goal attempts and forced 13 Central Penn turnovers.
The Green Terror return to the Gill Center on Friday to host the opening game of the Battle of DC/Maryland Classic with Hood and Ramapo. McDaniel will face Ramapo in the opener at 7 p.m.
