th career win for the McDaniel College men's basketball team with a 60-58 win over Ramapo on Friday in the opening game of the Battle of DC/Maryland Classic.
Curley is the first coach in program history to pass the 200-win milestone, having already eclipsed Alex Ober '63 for the most wins in program history after defeating Penn State Scranton on Nov. 12, 2024. Cole Riley just before the half made the score 27-24 at intermission.
Ramapo took a one-point lead with 13 minutes left in the second half, but a three-pointer from sophomore
Ashen Stuartput McDaniel back in front 37-33. Both teams traded free throws down the stretch until Shaffer broke a 53-53 tie with a three-pointer at the 3:06 mark to give the Green Terror the lead. The Roadrunners soon cut the deficit to one but late free throws from Stuart, Kearney and senior
Mikey Ayala Jr. sealed the two-point win.
Kearney led all scorers with 16 points on 5-of-11 shooting, making five of six foul shots. All nine of Shaffer's points came from beyond the arc while junior
