Box Score WESTMINSTER, Md. - The McDaniel College women's tennis team had a few hard-fought matches before falling to Mount Aloysius, 5-2, in its final home match of the season Sunday.
Freshman
Jillian Lasher and senior
Lauren Hoolahan earned the lone doubles win for the Green Terror (4-8) at No. 3 doubles with a 6-3 win over Mariah Hall and Masie Reed.
Lasher picked up the second win for McDaniel with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Hall at No. 5 singles.
Freshman
Stephanie Buttons earned the first point for the Green Terror at No. 1 singles, defeating Caylie Conlon, 6-0, 6-1.
Hoolahan had a hard-fought battle against Reed at No. 6 singles, dropping the first set before winning the second in a seven-set tiebreaker. Reed won the match, 7-5, 7-6 (7-3), 10-2.
Senior
Mackenzie McCarter also fell in a 10-point tiebreaker in the third at No. 3 singles against Julia Davis. McCarter dropped the first set, 6-3, before winning the second by the same score. Davis needed 11 points to win the third-set tiebreaker and prevail 6-3, 3-6, 11-9.
McCarter partnered with senior
Rachel Smith at No. 1 doubles, but the couple was eged by Conlon and Davis, 6-4.
The Green Terror return to action tomorrow at York (Pa.) in a rescheduled match from Friday. Start time is at 4 p.m.
