BRYN MAWR, Pa. - The McDaniel College women's tennis team closed out its 2025 season with a 6-1 road loss to Bryn Mawr on Sunday.
Freshman
Stephanie Buttons led the team with a hard-fought win in No. 1 singles, falling short in the first set but securing a win in the second, forcing a 10-point tiebreaker. Buttons prevailed and won the match 6-3, 6-2, 12-10 over Lowrey West.
Buttons partnered with senior
Lil Overcash at No. 1 doubles. They were defeated by West and Fernanda Hurtado with a final score of 6-2.
Overcash went on to play No. 2 singles against Kelli Eng and was not able to pick up a game, losing 6-0, 6-0.
Senior
Mackenzie McCarter and senior
Lauren Hoolahan had a hard-fought match at No. 3 doubles to Macey Ellis and Jill Hohmann where they came up close with a 6-4 loss.
McCarter went on to play No. 4 singles where she was edged by Ellis with a 6-3, 6-0 final score.
Hoolahan played at No. 5 singles where she went into a 3rd set, 10-point tiebreaker. Hoolahan was able to come back and win the second set but was not able to win the tie breaker where she fell 6-4, 6-2, 10-6.
