Lauren Hoolahan each picked up their first career wins to lead the McDaniel College women's tennis team to a 9-0 shutout over Notre Dame Maryland Thursday on the Warfield Tennis Courts.
The Green Terror (4-5) posted their second shutout of the season and second win in its last three home matches.
Overcash posted a 6-2, 6-0 win over Morgan Lookingland at No. 2 singles while Hoolahan made her college debut at No. 6 singles, posting a 6-1, 6-0 win over Shiri Nchotu.
Overcash partnered with freshman
Stephanie Buttons at No. 1 doubles to win 6-1 and Hoolahan teamed with freshman
Jillian Lasher at No. 3 doubles to record a 6-1 victory.
Senior
Mackenzie McCarter won a hard-fought match at No. 3 singles. She won the first set 6-2 before dropping the second, 6-2. In the third, she was able to come back and win the 10-point tiebreaker to record the fifth point for McDaniel, securing the team win.
McCarter was partnered with senior
Rachel Smith at No. 2 doubles to post a 6-2 victory and secure the first team point for the Green Terror.
McDaniel returns to action on Sunday when it travels to Penn State Abington. Match time is at 1 p.m.
