Box Score WESTMINSTER, Md. - Freshman Stephanie Buttons posted two wins as the McDaniel College women's tennis team opened its spring schedule with a 4-3 win over Ferrum Sunday on the Warfield Tennis Courts.

The Green Terror (3-4) jumped out to a 3-0 lead and sealed the match with a win at No. 1 singles.

Buttons partnered with senior Rachel Smith to post a 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles. At No. 2, freshmen Emily Larson and Jillian Lasher made their collegiate debuts, falling in a hard fought match, 6-3.

In singles action, Buttons posted a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Madison Cox.

Senior Nakayla Lawson had a close first set at No. 4 singles, falling 7-5, but fell in straight sets to Gabby Mendoza.

McDaniel returns to action next Sunday, March 23 when it hosts Lycoming at noon.
