Ethyn Ramey finished fifth and freshman
Ricky Dixon sixth to lead the McDaniel College men's wrestling team at the Mideast Futures hosted by The College of New Jersey Saturday.
The Green Terror finished 11th with a total of 12.5 points. Host TCNJ was first with 109 points. Gettysburg was sixth with 33 points, Ursinus was ninth wth 22.5 points while Muhlenberg was also 11th.
Ramey posted five consecutive wins to finish fifth at 141 pounds. He began the day with a loss to Ben Grater from Wilkes before rebounding with a high scoring 19-15 decision over Millersvlle's Daniel Capozzoli.
Ramey followed with back-to-back falls, the second of which came in just 40 seconds over Andrew Desola of NYU. He posted a major decision over Gettysburg's Daniel Carrozza before earning a 12-6 decision over Evan Shriberg of Ursinus in the fifth-place match.
Dixon posted aa 2-2 record to take sixth at 125 pounds. After a fall against NYU's Neale Pathak, he earned a hard-fought 5-2 decision against freshmanÂ
Cody Johnson before posting an 8-1 decision over Gettysburg's Tank Spelta.
Dixon concluded his day against Andrew Mucciolo of TCNJ who won with 15-0 tech fall.
Freshman
Nick Massengill picked up a 13-2 major decision over NYU's Aiden Tak at 157 pounds while sophomore
Gannon Brooks had a win at 184 pounds.
McDaniel heads to Messiah University next weekend for the Region 3 Championships. Competition begins on Friday, Feb. 28 at 10 a.m.
