LANCASTER, Pa. - McDaniel College men's wrestling senior
Thomas Monn was named Centennial Conference Athlete of the Week on Tuesday.
It marks the fifth career honor for Monn and the 14th for McDaniel over the last six seasons. He is one of six different Green Terror to be honored during that time, joining first-year
Branden Whyte-Taylor,
Alex DuFour, Jaedyn Harris, Alex LaVeck, and Tony Wuest.
Whyte-Taylor was honored earlier this season on November 11.
Ranked second nationally and first in region 3 at 149 pounds, Monn went 5-0 with four falls and one tech fall to earn his ninth career tournament title and third at the Blue Jay Classic. He won titles in 2022, 2024, and 2025 and finished second in 2023. He began his day with three consecutive falls, all in under two minutes, before posting a 19-4 tech fall over Giorgio Difalco of Centennial Conference rival Johns Hopkins.
Monn then secured his 17th win in 17 matches this season with a fall in 1:22 over Freddy Pimental of Johns Hopkins in the final.
Monn now has 119 career wins, seven shy of the program record held by
Brock Glotfelty '11. Monn is currently 119-11 with 52 falls, eight shy of the record held by Glotfelty and Charlie Conaway '00.
McDaniel returns to action next Saturday, Dec. 13 at home in a tri-meet with Messiah and Shenandoah beginning at 12:30 p.m.
