Lancaster, PA – The women's indoor track & field team opened their season at the Diplomat Open at Franklin & Marshall College. 

Junior Sophia Leone placed third in the pole vault with a mark of 3.20m. Junior Michaela Carney jumped 2.90m to place seventh; she moves to fourth in program history. Sophomore Tara Hornung jumped 2.75m to place eighth. First-year Allison Kapustka placed 11th with a jump of 2.60m, she moves to tenth in program history. Senior Allie Rolek placed 13th with a mark of 2.45m. All five of the pole vaulters qualified for the Centennial Conference Championship. 

Sophomore Gabby DeMarco placed fifth in the triple jump with a mark of 9.86m. Senior Elyssa Greene jumped 8.11m to place ninth. DeMarco qualified for the conference championship. 

Senior Anna Rando placed eight in the 60 meter hurdles with a mark of 10.05. She also placed 12th in the 60 meter dash with a time of 8.44. Rando qualified for the Conference Championships in both events.  

DeMarco took tenth in the long jump with a mark of 4.76m. Rando jumped 4.65m to place 14th. DeMarco and Rando hit the conference standard. Greene jumped 4.11m, placing 22nd. 

First-year Isabel Meadows-Soto placed fourth in the mile with a time of 5:41.63. 

Senior Piper Nagaraj placed 15th in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:41.97. Senior Abby Warner placed 18th with a time of 3:00.39. Sophomore Riley Friedman ran 3:11.45 to place 20th. 

Senior Kate Principio placed 24th in the weight throw with a mark of 9.43m. 

Graduate student Samantha Vogel threw 8.52 meters in shot put to place 31st. Sophomore Maddie Alexander threw 7.75m to place 38th. 

McDaniel will return to action for the Cardinal Classic hosted by Catholic on January 17th.
