GREENWOOD, Ind. - The McDaniel College women's soccer team had three players named to the Academic All-District® Women's Soccer Team, selected by the College Sports Communicators on Tuesday.
Senior
Sarah Hurley, junior
Alexis Keller-Posen, and sophomore
Mackenzie Bott each earned their first career Academic All-District® honor.
The Academic All-America® program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. To be nominated, a student-athlete must meet the following criteria:
- Must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically.
- Must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (GPA).
- Must have competed in at least 90 percent of team games played OR have started at least 66 percent of the total number of team games played.
Hurley is a Kinesiology major with a 3.94 GPA. She was selected to the 2025 Centennial Conference All-Sportsmanship Team for women's soccer and was one of just two players to start all 18 of the team's games this season. She had four points with one goal and two assists as a defender, scoring her first career goal in the 57th minute to lead the Green Terror to a 2-1 win at Penn State Harrisburg on Sept. 17.
Keller-Posen is also a Kinesiology major with a 3.87 GPA. She received her second consecutive All-Centennial Conference selection this season and played in and started 17 of the team's 18 games. She ranked second on the team with two goals and five points as a defender while finishing second on the team with 1,504 minutes played.
Bott is a Health Sciences major with a perfect 4.00 GPA. She and Hurley were the only two players to start all 18 of the team's games this season while leading the team with 1,535 minutes played as a defender. She helped anchor a defense that allowed the least number of shots in the conference and second-fewest shots on goal while totaling six shutouts.
Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced Wednesday, Dec. 17.
