VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - McDaniel College women's track & field junior Ameerah Johnson shattered her own program record in the weight throw at the Marlin Invitational hosted by Virginia Wesleyan.

Johnson broke her own program record with a mark of 12.45m (40' 10.25") to finish eighth. It was her sixth mark in the program's all-time top-10 performances. She also placed 19th in the shot put with a mark of 9.35m (30' 8.25").
Freshman Gabby DeMarco jumped a personal-best 10.12m (33' 2.5") to place 11th in the triple jump, moving her into seventh in program history. She also placed 16th in the long jump with a mark of 4.69m (15' 4.75").
Junior Anna Kale placed 15th in the mile run with a personal-best time of 6:00.34.
Junior Anna Rando placed 17th in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 10.11 seconds. She had a time of 8.42 seconds to place 21st in the 60-meter dash. Later, she placed 24th in the 200 meters with a time of 28.00 seconds.
Junior Piper Nagaraj ran 2:42.41 in the 800 meters to place 18th.
The Green Terror will return to action on Saturday, Feb. 8 at the Blue & White Invitational hosted by Franklin & Marshall.
