WINCHESTER, Va – The Women's Indoor Track and Field travel to Shenandoah for the Kaye & JJ Smith Invitational. Junior Anna Rando and Junior Piper Nagaraj led with second place finishes.
The Green Terror placed fifth of eight teams with a total of 65.5 points. District of Columbia won the meet with 133 points.
Rando placed second in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 10.17. Rando also placed ninth in the 60 meter dash with a Centennial Conference qualifying time of 8.52. Freshman Nakayla Ross placed 11th in a time of 8.56. Junior Allie Rolek ran 9.54 to place 19th.
Nagaraj placed second in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:48.88. Junior Anna Kale followed in third with a time of 2:51.14. Sophomore Kaitlyn Bard ran 3:17.58 to place fifth. Junior Abby Warner placed sixth with a time of 3:18.32.
Junior Ameerah Johnson placed third in the shot put with a throw of 10.02m (32-10.25), qualifying for the conference championship. Junior Dakota Benson placed 14th throwing 6.65m (21-9.75). Johnson placed fifth in the weight throw with a mark of 11.18m (36-8). Junior Kate Principio placed seventh with a mark of 10.11m (33-2). Both hit the conference qualifying standard.
Freshman Gabby DeMarco placed third in triple jump with a mark of 9.77m (32-0.5). DeMarco also placed fifth in the long jump with a mark of 4.45m (14-7).
Sophomore Sophia Leone placed third in the pole vault with a mark of 2.85m (9-4). Junior Summer James placed fifth with a mark of 2.25m (7-4.5)
The 4x1600 meter relay of sophomore Maya Colavito, Kale, junior Arianna Lowengrub, and Nagaraj placed fourth with a time of 26:17.78. This is second in program history.
Lowengrub placed ninth in the 1 mile run with a time of 7:16.75.
Colavito ran 11:49.88 to place 11th in the 3000 meter. Junior Natalie Kaminsky ran 13:25.53 to place 23rd.
Ross placed 11th in the 200 meter dash with a time of 30.74. Principio ran 33.21 to place 19th.
The Green Terror will return to action at Franklin & Marshall for the Coach I Invitational on Saturday, January 25th.
