ALLENTOWN, Pa. - McDaniel College men's track & field junior Alex Brown earned the bronze medal in the long jump to highlight day two of the 2024 Centennial Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Muhlenberg.
The Green Terror are in fifth-place out of nine teams with 29 points. Johns Hopkins maintained its lead with 101.5 points.
Brown placed third in the long jump with a mark 21-feet, 6-inches. Sophomore Oral-Anthony Coleman placed fourth with a mark of 21-feet, 4-inches while junior Keiron Wilson jumped 20-feet, 4.25-inches to place ninth. Sophomore Christian Homer came in 12th and freshman Josh Codrington jumped place 17th.
The 4x800-meter relay team of sophomore Jack Reiser, sophomore Jack Sears, senior Tyler Richardson, and junior Anders Madsen placed fifth with a time of 7:57.47 which is the fifth-fastest time in program history.
Senior Chett Brunner placed fifth in the discus with a throw of 141-feet, 3-inches while sophomore Jacob Graham placed 10th with a throw of 120-feet, 2-inches. Senior Jake Conklin placed 13th and freshman Jamey Travers finshed 14th.
K. Wilson placed sixth in the high jump with a leap of 5-fee, 10.50-inches and Brown tied for seventh with a mark of 5-feet, 8.50-inches. Codrington placed 11th and junior Christian Taylor placed 13th.
Senior Tyren Proctor advanced to the finals in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.13 seconds along wth senior Kyle Hubbard who crossed the line in 16.10 seconds.
Hubbard also advanced to the finals in the 400-meter hurdles with the fastest time in the prelims of 56.10 seconds, the fifth-best time in program history.
Coleman advanced to the finals in the 100 and 200 meters with a times of 10.97 seconds and 22.27 seconds, respectively.
Senior Nick Raumann placed 12th in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with the fourth-fastest time in program history at 10:01.19.
Richardson placed ninth in the 400 meters with a time of 52.00 seconds.
Freshman Roman Arensmeyer placed 14th in the 110 hurdles and 15th in the 400-meter hurdles with a personal best of 1:06.61.
Freshman Tarik Jones Jr. ran a personal best time in the 200 meters at 23.77 seconds.
McDaniel concludes competition at the 2024 Centennial Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Sunday beginning at 11 a.m.
