OWINGS MILLS, Md. - McDaniel College men's track & field senior Chett Brunner led the team at the 2024 ECAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Stevenson Friday.
The Green Terror won the team title for the second-straight year with a score of 186 points. Hood placed second with 111 points.
Brunner led the team and finished third among all competitors with 20 points, winning both the discus and shot put. He won the discus with a throw of 140-feet, 10-inches and the shot put with a mark of 47-feet, 5.25-inches.
Junior Jacob Graham placed fifth in the discus with a throw of 112-feet, 9-inches while senior Jake Conklin placed seventh with a throw of 105-feet, 6-inches.
Graham placed fourth in the shot put with a mark of 37-feet, 8.75-inches while Conklin took sixth with a throw of 36-feet, 5-inches. Freshman Jacob Gibson finished 10th with a mark of 32-feet, 6.50-inches.
Senior Tyren Proctor won the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 17.10 seconds and freshman Roman Arensmeyer came in second at 17.21 seconds after running a personal best 17.19 seconds in the prelims.
Arensmeyer came in sixth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:08.75.
Junior Alex Brown won the long jump with a mark of 21-feet, 9.50-inches and junior Oral-Anthony Coleman took second with a mark of 19-feet, 9.75-inches. Junior Keiron Wilson was fifth with at 18-feet, 7.25-inches. Senior DaVaughn Joyner finished 11th with a mark of 15-feet, 9-inches.
Coleman was third in the 100 meters in 11.18 seconds while Brown placed sixth in 11.51 seconds.
Graham posted his third top-5 finish with a second-place showing in the hammer throw with a mark of 134-feet, 9-inches. Conklin was fifth with a mark of 101-feet, 11-inches while Gibson placed sixth with a throw of 97-feet, 9-inches.
Conklin placed second in the javelin with a throw of 123-feet, freshman Chris Wilson threw 95-feet, 11-inches to place eighth and Coleman placed 13th with a throw of 73-feet, 8-inches.
Senior Nick Raumann placed second in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 10:36.88 and also took second in the 10,000 meters with a time of 39:42.58. Senior Tyler Richardson placed third in the 10,000 meters in 41:19.98.
Sophomore Jack Sears placed second in the 5,000 meters in 16:19.57.
The 4x100 meter relay placed second with a time of 44.43 seconds.
K. Wilson was third in the triple jump with a leap of 43-feet, 7.75-inches and Brown was fourth with a mark of 42-feet, 1.50-inches.
K. Wilson was also fourth in the high jump with a mark of 5-feet, 8-inches and Brown was fifth at 5-feet, 6-inches.
Freshman Fabrizzio Verano Valderrama placed third in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:55.77.
The 4x400 meter relay team of Richardson, Raumann, freshman Jerian Batty, and junior Sean Irwin placed fourth with a time of 3:44.67.
Richardson ran a time of 2:05.38 to place fifth in the 800 meters while Irwin ran a personal best of 2:11.32 to place sixth. Batty was seventh running 2:12.36.
Senior Kyle Silver placed eighth in the 400 meters with a time of 56.65 seconds.
A handful of competitors will conclude the season on Monday at the Widener Last Chance Qualifier.
