Colavito Leads Women Into ECAC Mid-Atlantic Championships

WESTMINSTER, Md. - McDaniel College will be hosting the 2024 ECAC Division III Mid-Atlantic Championships at the McDaniel College Golf Club on Friday, Nov. 8.

This year's competition will feature four teams on the women's side, including Delaware Valley, Johns Hopkins, McDaniel and Virginia Wesleyan. Hopkins won the meet last year with a perfect score of 15, claiming 11 of the 15 medalists.

Cameron Coletti is the top returner for the Blue Jays after placing third at the meet a year ago.

The Green Terror, who finished second a year ago, will have one of their three 2023 medalists returning this year. Sophomore Maya Colavito won her first individual race at the Charger Invitational this season and placed 46th at the Centennial Conference Cross Country Championships last year on the McDaniel College Golf Club.

Juniors Anna Kale and Piper Nagaraj have traded spots two and three throughout the season. Kale recently ran a 6k personal best at the Gettysburg Invitational while Nagaraj posted a personal best in the 4k this season.

Senior Emily Paulson enters the meet having posted personal bests in the 4k and 5k this season and junior Natalie Kaminsky has had strong showings in her first year at McDaniel.

Juniors Arianna Lowengrub and Abby Warner round out the team's seven runners with Warner posting personal bests in the 4k and 5k this season.

Emma East, who finished 39th at the Middle Atlantic Conference Cross Country Championships, leads Delaware Valley. As a team, the Aggies finished 12th at the conference meet, their best finish in 14 years.

Virginia Wesleyan is competing in the ECAC championships for the first time in program history and are led by Abby Peck who posted a personal best at the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships.
