WESTMINSTER, Md. - McDaniel College men's cross country junior
Sean Irwin led the team with a top-30 finish at the Blazer Blitz hosted by Hood College on Friday at Utica Park.
As a team, the Green Terror totaled 150 points, placing them in a tie for sixth with Marymount (VA), but the Saints edged out McDaniel on tiebreakers.
Irwin finished the 4k course with a time of 15:25.3 to place 26th. Freshman
Fabrizzio Veranovalderrama followed close behind in 28th with a time of 15:28.9.
Freshman
Braylon Johnson opened his season with a 42nd-place finish in a time of 16:50.3. Freshmen
Jerian Batty and
Kayden Batty also competed in their first collegiate races, finishing 44th and 45th with times of 17:03.9 and 17:16.1, respectively.
The Green Terror will be back in action tomorrow, September ninth for the Navy Invite. McDaniel will be sending the team's top five runners to that Invite.
