Box Score 2 WESTMINSTER, Md. - The Green Terror women's tennis team competed against Marymount and Mt. Aloysius on Sunday. They took two matches from Marymount, but followed that up with a decisive 6-3 win over the Mounties in the second match of the day.
In the first match against the Saints, Marymount took the first two doubles, but
Claire Hopkins and
Elizabeth Hough battled into a tie break and eventually lost 7-7, 7-2.
Hopkins rebounded with a singles win over the Saints 8-5.
Hough took three games, but lost singles match No. 5, 6-1, 6-2.Â
Liz Fyfe picked up the the other win for the Green Terror in Singles No. 2, 7-6, 6-3.
Fyfe teamed up with
Carly Jarkiewicz for doubles and fell to the Saints 8-1. Marymount would go on to win 7-2.
McDaniel rallied in the second match of the day against the Mounties.
Jarkiewicz fell in her doubles match with
Liz Fyfe, but picked up her third singles win of the season against Mt. Aloysius 6-2, 6-3.Â
Despite losing in a tie break with
Mackenzie McCarter,
Rachel Smith won her singles match against the Mounties 4-6, 6-1, 10-6.
McCarter also rallied to win her singles match 6-4, 1-6, 10-7.
Elizabeth Hough won her singles match 6-0, 6-1. The Green Terror ended up winning 6-3 for their fourth win of the year.
McDaniel returns to action on Tuesday at home against Hood. The match is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
