HAGERSTOWN, Md. - The McDaniel women's indoor track competed at the Larry Sharpe Memorial Invitational hosted by Hagerstown Community College.
Senior Bailey Mullen led the team with her win in the 1000m with a time of 3:13.10 to move up to fifth in program history. Mullen also took second in the mile with a 5:29.64 mark to move into ninth in program history. Both marks are personal records. The rest of the pack was led by freshman Piper Nagaraj who placed fourth in the mile with a 5:54.22 and followed up with junior Ashley Siebenhaar in 5:59.64 for fifth. Freshman Anna Kale ran a 6:28.07 for eighth, sophomore Emily Paulson recorded a 6:40.49 for ninth, and freshman Arianna Lowengrub in at 6:48.99 for tenth.
Freshman Kate Principio led the field events with a win in shot put and a personal record throw of 8.28m. Senior Renee Dupre followed up the throws with second place in shot put with a 7.85m. Dupre also placed third in 55m hurdles and high jump with a season record time of 9.95 in hurdles and 1.37m in high jump. To finish the throws, Mikayla Smith claimed fourth with a personal record shot put throw with 6.26m.
McDaniel claimed the top four finishes in the 200m led by junior Katie Morgan with the win in 27.67. Freshman Anna Rando placed second in a 27.74 and fourth in 55m hurdles in 10.03. Senior Gabby Collins placed third with a time of 28.37 and junior Yeseniah Ortiz took fourth in 28.49.
Senior Megan O'Neill caps off today's wins with a 1:53.45 in the 600m which places her fifth in program history. Rando adds to her finishes with third in the 55m in 7.72 (7.74 Prelims) with Collins taking fourth in 7.87 (7.86 Prelims). Freshman Elyssa Greene finished the 55m in 8.44 for 10th.
Both the 4x200 relay of Collins, Angel Bidgell, Rando, and Morgan and the sprint medley relay of Bidgell, Ortiz, Morgan, and Mullen won with a 1:49.77 and 4:44.61, respectively. The 4x200m relay places eighth in program history and the sprint medley relay marks at second in program history.
The team will be back in action on February 25th and 26th for the Centennial Conference Championships
