LANCASTER, Pa. - The Green Terror Women's Indoor track team competed at the Blue & White Invitational hosted by Franklin & Marshall. The team collectively earned 12 personal records and set four new marks on the McDaniel top 10 performers list.
To lead in the program history rankings of the day, junior Mikayla Smith threw a mark of 9.15m in the weight throw for 16th place and a personal record. This mark ranks her at second in program history. Smith also competed in shot put where she threw a mark of 5.46m to place 22nd.
Senior Renee Dupre led the team in combined personal and season best marks with a personal best mark in shot put for 8.02m to place 15th. Dupre's season bests came from a 13th place jump in long jump for 4.12m and 60m hurdles with a time of 10.70. Dupre's highest finish of the day came from high jump with a height of 1.35m for 5th place.
Senior Bailey Mullen led in individual placements with second in the 3000m with a time of 10:54.65 to better her seventh rank in program history. Mullen also placed fourth in the 1000m with a time of 3:15.48 to earn the seventh rank in program history for the event.
Junior Angel Bidgell added to the top five individual placement with fourth in long jump with a personal record mark of 4.86m and added herself to the program history rankings to tie at 7th. Bidgell continued with a 10th place finish in the 60m with a 8.45, 12th finish in the 200 in 28.26, and 17th finish in 60 hurdles with a personal record 11.02.
Junior Katie Morgan followed up with a 3rd place finish in the 400m with a time of 1:02.70 and seventh place finish for a 27.90 in the 200. Freshman Anna Kale finished out the top five finishes with a 3:36.27 in the 1000m for fifth place. Freshman Ameerah Johnson led the placements in the throws for sixth place in shot put with a throw of 9.99m. Freshman Kate Principio had great showing with a debut in pole vault with an 11th place vault of 1.83m, a 16th place throw in shot put of 7.71m for a personal record, and an 18th place throw in weight throw for 8.37m. Sophomore Emily Paulson added to the personal records with sixth in the 1000m for a 3:49.27. Freshman Arianna Lowengrub also came in with a personal record in the 1000m in 3:55.10 for seventh.
Freshman Anna Rando put up an eighth place finish in the 200m in 27.94 and 15th finish in 60m hurdles for a 10.92. Freshman Elyssa Greene placed ninth in triple jump with a jump of 8.60m. The top 10 finishes were rounded out by junior Ashley Siebenhaar in the mile with a time of 5:57.97 and freshman Sofia DelRosso-Freeman in pole vault with a jump of 2.13m.
Freshman Piper Nagaraj finished the 800m in a personal record time of 2:36.54 for 11th. Senior Megan O'Neill finished the 400m in 1:06.98 for 13th place. Junior Yeseniah Ortiz placed 13th in the 200m with a 28.27 and 17th in the 60m with a 8.58. Senior Gabby Collins placed 15th in both the 60m and 200m with a 8.55 and 28.35, respectively. Freshman Taylor Pinthiere placed 17th in long jump with a jump of 4.03m and 29th in the 60m with a 9.03.
McDaniel's "A" 4x400m relay of Morgan, Ortiz, Nagaraj, and Collins placed 5th with a 4:26.37.
The McDaniel indoor track & field team will be in action on the track on Saturday, February 18th for the Larry Sharpe Invitational at Hagerstown Community College.
