LEWISBURG, Pa. -
The McDaniel Women's indoor track team traveled to Bucknell University for the Bison Opener to start their 2022-2023 season. The Women's squad started the season strong with one program record, five new entries to the top 10 lists for McDaniel, and 12 Centennial Conference qualifiers.
The Leaders
· Katie Morgan (Chesapeake City, Md./Caravel Academy) set the program record at McDaniel for the 500 meter dash with a time of 42.98, beating out the previous record of 43.15 set by Jasmine Scott at Bucknell in 2012.
· Bailey Mullen (Baltimore, Md/The Catholic High School of Baltimore) jumps to 9th all time for the program in the 3000 meter run with a time of 11:10.02 finishing 8th place in the meet. She will also go to 10th all time in the 1 mile with a time of 5:34.38 finishing 6th. Both times will qualify her for the Centennial Conference Championships.
· Yeseniah Ortiz (Glassboro, N.J./Delsea Regional) Moves to 9th all time for the program in the 300 with a time of 46.10, finishing 12th in the meet. She also qualified for the Centennial Conference Championships in the 60 meter dash with a time of 8.55 finishing 35th.
· Shannon Short (Waldorf, Md/North Point) will take 8th place on the program record board in the 500, she finished 10th with a time of 1:28.42.
The Rest of The Story
· Gabby Collins (Indian Head, Md./North Point) ran the 200 meter dash with a time of 27.87 placing 24th. She also ran the 60 meter dash with a time of 8.44 coming in 31st. These times will qualify her for conferences in both events.
· Anna Rondo (Rising Sun, Md./Perryville) came in 26th in the 200 with a time of 27.97. Rando also ran 8.31 in the 60 finishing 27th, and qualifying for conferences in both events.
· Angel Bidgell (Glen Burnie, Md./Old Mill) placed 26th in the 200 with a time of 27.97, and finished 29th in the 60 with a time of 8.41. She has qualified in both events.
· Renee Dupre (Greencastle, Pa/Smithsburg) finished 18th in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 10.81. She also finished 18th in the high jump with a height of 1.40m. Both marks will qualify her for conferences.
· Jasmine Porter (Clinton, Md./Friendly) Had a time of 8.65 in the 60, advancing her to conferences. She also ran the 200 coming in 35th with a time of 28.68.
· The women's A squad 4x400 finished 8th in the meet with a time of 4:25.02. The team included Katie Morgan, Yeseniah Ortiz, Megan O'Neill, and Shannon Short.
· Megan O'Neill (Mount Airy, Md/South Carroll) finished 16th in the 800 with a time of 2:37.21.
· Piper Nagaraj (Eldersburg, Md/Liberty) finished 18th in the 800 with a time of 2:39.50
· Ashley Siebenhaar (Severna Park, Md/Severna Park) finished 20th in the 800 with a time of 2:45.12.
· Anna Kale (King George, Va/King George) finished 21st in the 800 with a time of 2:48.93.
· Emily Paulson (Ashburn, Va/Stone Bridge) finished 22nd in the 800 with a time of 2:56.73.
· The women's B squad 4x400 came in 12th with a time of 4:40.31. This team included Gabby Collins, Anna Rondo, Piper Nagaraj, and Jasmine Porter.
· The women's C 4x400 squad came in 13th with a time of 5:00.15. This team included Renne Dupre, Anna Kale, Emily Paulson, and Ashley Siebenhaar.

The next meet will be the Kaye & JJ Smith Invitational and will take place at Shenandoah University on Sunday January 15th.
