THE SKINNY
McDaniel fell behind early in both matches of an 0-2 Centennial Conference quad hosted by Gettysburg. The Green Terror feel to Washington and Lee in the day's first match 37-10 before dropping a 37-16 decision to Ursinus.
THE LEADERS
• Michael Bromley (Mt. Airy, Md./Linganore) led the Green Terror with a pair of victories by major decision, notching wins by scores of 11-0 and 12-1, respectively.
FOR THE FOES
• David Rubin led the Generals with a first-period pin at 133.
• Jagger Clapsadle posted the first of four pins for the Bears in the day's second match.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• Washington and Lee opened the day with six straight wins to secure the match after jumping out to a 28-0 lead. Riley Parker started action with an 18-5 major decision at 125 before David Rubin notched his fall in 2:38 at 133. Charlie Cunningham stretched the lead to 15-0 with a 16-0 technical fall in the first period. After a Nic Zamaloff forfeit win at 149, Ryan Luth notched a 15-3 major decision and Joe Salerno edged out a 1-0 win at 165. Michael Bromley got McDaniel on the board with his 11-0 win at 174 before a Brad Basham 4-minute, 44-second fall at 184. John Ryan Sedovy needed extra time for a 4-2 win at 197 before Eric Ward Jr. (Salisbury, Md./J.M. Bennett) rounded out the match with his second straight pin for the Green Terror, winning in 5:19 at heavyweight.
• Ursinus won the first four bouts for a 19-0 lead in the match. Terry Adams recorded a 24-10 major decision at 125 before a Jagger Clapsadle 2-minute 2-second pin made it a 10-0 lead. A Westley Tosto 15-11 win at 141 and Dante Monaco recorded a forfeit win at 149. Xavier Howard (Sykesville, Md./Wheaton) broke up the run with an third-period injury default win. Alex LaVeck (Reisterstown, Md./McDonogh) recorded a 43-second pin at 165 to close the deficit to 19-12. Bromley made it 19-16 with his 12-1 win at 174 before the Beas recorded wins in the final three bouts – all by fall.
