THE SKINNY STORY
McDaniel notched four top-eight individual finishes in its first meet of 2020 at the Orange and Maroon Classic hosted by Susquehanna.
THE LEADERS
• Gabby Collins (Indian Head, Md./North Point) placed fourth in the 60 finals with a time of 8.41 seconds. She qualified seventh with a time of 8.52 seconds. She was also eighth in the 200 with a time of 28.37 seconds.
• Megan O'Neill (Mt. Airy, Md./South Carroll) made her debut with a fifth-place finish in the 800, posting a conference-qualifying time of 2:33.05.
• Sarah Case (Frederick, Md./Oakdale) was seventh in the shot put with a throw of 9.94 meters.
FOR THE FOES:
• There were no team scores at the meet.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• Renee Dupre (Hagerstown, Md./Smithsburg) finished ninth in the 60 hurdles, moving up to ninth on the program's all-time list with a time of 10.48 seconds. She was also 32nd in the 200 (31.59 seconds).
• Yasmine Kabwasa McGuire finished 11th in the long jump with a mark of 4.75 meters. The conference-qualifying jump ranks eighth in program history.
• Megan Mesick (Fredericksburg, Va./Chancellor) posted a CC-qualifying time of 2:37.18 in the 800 to finish 11th. Her time was also a collegiate best.
• Priscilla Owusu (Bowie, Md./Parkdale) bettered her personal best in the 60 with a time of 8.98 seconds to finish 18th in the field. She was also 28th in the 200 (31.00 seconds).
• Kabwasa McGuire and Case competed in the pentathlon on Friday. Kabwasa McGuire was 10th with a score of 2,000 points, which is sixth in program history. Her best event was the 60 hurdles with a time of 11.09 seconds for 522 points. Case finished 12th with a score of 1,478. Her best event came in the shot put with 512 points. Her mark of 9.73 meters was the second-best throw in the field.
• The 4x400-meter relay of Megan O'Neill, Renee Dupree, Megan Mesick and Gabby Collins finished seventh with a time of 4:41.39.
THE INSIDE STORY
• Corrine White was 23rd in the weight throw (7.70 meters) and 31st in the shot put (7.69 meters).
• Bailey Mullen was 24th in the long jump (3.79 meters) and 30th in the 60 (9.77 seconds).
• Abby Gonzalez placed 25th in the 800 (3:03.76).
• Mackenzie Meyer was 26th in the 800 (3:06.68) and 32nd in the shot put (7.49 meters).
