McDaniel won both of the contested doubles matches to key a 5-4 win over Trinity.
THE LEADERS
• Lia Posatko (Rydal, Pa./The Crefeld School) led the Green Terror with two wins, not dropping a game. She and Reaiah Rutherford (Old Lyme, Conn./Metropolitan Business Academy and Educational Center for the Arts won first doubles 8-0 before Posatko took No. 1 singles, 6-0, 6-0.
• Rutherford capped a 2-0 day of her own by winning second singles, 6-1, 7-5.
FOR THE FOES
• Fosia Jafar won fourth singles in a super-tiebreaker third set. She took the opening set 6-4 before falling in the second set, 6-3. She then prevailed 10-8 in the deciding set.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• Rachael Hartley (Baltimore, Md./Patapsco) and Akire Gaines (Ansonia, Conn./Ansonia) teamed for an 8-1 win at second doubles. Hartley capped a 2-0 day with a 6-0, 6-3 win at third singles.
