THE SKINNY STORY
McDaniel recorded a fifth-place finish and a program record on day one to lead the way at the 2019 Centennial Conference (CC) women's indoor track and field championship hosted by Franklin & Marshall. The Green Terror recorded four points.
THE LEADERS
• Sarah Case (Frederick, Md./Urbana) led the Green Terror with a fifth-place finish in the pentathlon. She finished with 1989 points, which ranks sixth in program history. The freshman turned in personal-best marks in four events, including the shot put (9.97 meters), finishing first among the field in the event. She also had a personal-best mark in the long jump (4.15 meters), 800 (3:02.08) and high jump (1.23 meters). She posted a time of 11.66 in the 60 hurdles.
• Simi Adeoye placed ninth in the weight throw with a program-record throw of 11.01 meters.
FOR THE FOES:
• Johns Hopkins won its ninth straight championship with 249.5 points, outdistancing second-place Swarthmore by 151.5 points.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• Rachel Dixon (Crofton, Md./Arundel) finished 21st in the 60 with a time of 8.99 seconds.
• The distance medley relay of Megan Mesick (Fredericksburg, Va./Chancellor), Riley O'Hara (Fairfax, Va./Robinson Seminary), Maria Kropkowski (Forest Hill, Md./Bel Air) and Bailey Chapman (Bel Air, Md./Patterson Mill) was 10th with a time of 15:23.44.
• The 4x800-meter relay of Megan Mesick, Riley O'Hara, Mackenzie Meyer and Bailey Chapman was 10th with a time of 11:32.92.
THE INSIDE STORY
• Sarah Case was 17th in the shot put (9.71 meters).
• Simi Adeoye finished 22nd in the shot put (9.04 meters).
