WESTMINSTER, Md. – Johns Hopkins, ranked 11th in Division III, dropped just five games in a 9-0 win over McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) women's tennis action on Wednesday.
Winsome Schauer (Hartford, Conn./Watkinson School) led the Green Terror (1-11, 0-7 CC), winning three games on the day. Anna Kankanaia and Chrissy Simon defeated Schauer and Leesa Malczewski (Denton, Md./Chesapeake) 8-1 at first singles before Kankanaia took a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles.
Amanda Soo Ping Chow and Andrea Joseph led the Blue Jays (12-4, 7-0 CC) with a pair of wins without dropping a game. Soo Ping Chow won at second doubles 8-0 and third singles, 6-0, 6-0. Joseph won by the same scores at third doubles and sixth singles.
McDaniel returns to action at Frostburg on Thursday. Match time is 3:30 p.m.
