WESTMINSTER, Md. – Haverford swept doubles en route to a 9-0 win over McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) women's tennis action on Saturday.
Laura Penhallegon (Glen Arm, Md./Loch Raven) led the Green Terror (1-6, 0-3 CC), winning six games in her two matches. She teamed with Angela Johnson (Lansdowne, Md./Lansdowne) at No. 2 doubles. Courtney Ahmed and Caroline Steliotes won the match, 8-4.
Steliotes then topped Penhallegon 6-0, 6-2 at fourth singles.
Abby Payson led the Fords (5-4, 2-1 CC) with two wins, teaming with Robyn Himelstein for an 8-0 win at first doubles before winning 6-0, 6-0 at second singles.
McDaniel returns to action at Dickinson on Tuesday. Match time is 4 p.m.
