COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Ursinus swept doubles play en route to a 9-0 win over McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) women's tennis action on Saturday.
Maddy Simmons (Bowie, Md./Bowie) led the Green Terror (4-12, 1-9 CC), forcing a tiebreaker at the top flight in both doubles and singles. She and her sister Tori Simmons (Bowie, Md./Bowie) dropped a 9-8 decision at No. 1 doubles, falling to Ashley Nguyen and Alleen Bevard 7-4 in the tiebreaker. Nguyen then topped Maddy Simmons 6-1 in the first set at No. 1 singles but needed a 7-4 win in the tiebreaker to win the second set, 7-6.
BreAnna Bashaw led the Bears (14-6, 5-5 CC) with a pair of wins, not dropping a game along the way. She partnered with Christina Cromwell to win third doubles 8-0 before taking third singles, 6-0, 6-0. Cromwell also took No. 4 singles, 6-0, 6-0.
