ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Chloe Allen-Gorman (Portland, Ore./Lincoln) finished third in the 1,000 with a program-record and ECAC-qualifying time to lead McDaniel at the Multi-Mix Madness Meet hosted by Navy in women's indoor track and field action on Thursday.
As a team, the Green Terror finished fifth with 15 points. Maryland won the eight-team invitational with 201 points while the host Midshipmen were second with 167 points.
Allen-Gorman was the first Division III runner across the line – and second collegiate competitor – with a time of 3:05.96 to not only break the program record by three seconds but also hit the squad's first ECAC qualifier of the indoor season.
Emily Gross (Red Lion, Pa./Red Lion) finished sixth in the same event with a time of 3:29.63 while Beth Lang (Eldersburg, Md./Century) and Rebecca Debinski (Sykesville, Md./Century) finished seventh (3:41.49) and eighth (3:52.79), respectively.
Kelly Gibson (Yardley, Pa./Pennington [N.J.]) added a sixth-place showing in the high jump, clearing 1.50 meters.
Claire Lawson (McMinnville, Ore./McMinnville) rounded out point scorers for McDaniel, finishing eighth in the 60 hurdles with a 10.00 seconds, which ranks third all-time in program history.
Lawson was also 17th in the 400 with a time of 1:02.16 to move into seventh place on the all-time list.
Avalon McOmber (Lexington, Va./Rockbridge County) finished ninth in the 5,000 with a time of 20:39.62. Amelia Lawrence (Cabin John, Md./Walt Whitman) added a 10th-place showing (21:07.71) while Kelsey Minyon (Millville, Del./Indian River) was 11th (21:39.89).
Shantae Byro (Baltimore, Md./Northwestern) finished 16th in the 60, clocking a time of 8.49 seconds.
Arielle Latourette (Easton, Pa./Easton Area) rounded out the Green Terror competitors, finishing the pentathlon with 2,116 points.
Her best finish came in the 800, finishing 10th with a time of 2:46.58, which also earned her the most points of any of the five events (500).
The Green Terror returns to action at the Susquehanna Invitational on Saturday.
