ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Arielle Latourette (Easton, Pa./Easton Area) finished eighth in the triple jump and 10th in the long jump to lead McDaniel in its women's indoor track and field opener at the Navy Lidlifter on Tuesday.
Latourette hit one of four Centennial Conference (CC)-qualifying standards in the opening meet of the season. She turned in a jump of 4.94 meters in the long jump to his the standard. She reached 9.49 meters in the triple jump.
Lechi Nwanegwo secured two of the Green Terror's CC standards. She finished 16th in the long jump with a jump of 4.73 meters. She was also 25th in the 60-meter dash, finishing with a time of 8.36 seconds. Nwanegwo was also 29th in the 200 with a time of 27.94.
Christina Simmons (Baltimore, Md./St. Timothy's) made her collegiate debut with a time of 8.65 seconds in the 60 to finish 31st and hit the CC mark in her first try. She was also 34th in the 200 with a time of 29.80.
Chloe Allen-Gorman (Portland, Ore./Lincoln) led a trio of McDaniel runners in the 1,000. She recorded the top finish of any Green Terror runner, placing eighth with a time of 3:13.42.
Kelsey Minyon (Millville, Del./Indian River) was 14th with a time of 3:26.58 while Amelia Lawrence (Cabin John, Md./Walt Whitman) crossed 15th in a time of 3:32.45.
McDaniel returns to action at the Great Dane Classic at Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island, N.Y. on Saturday, Jan. 16.
