SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Claire Lawson (McMinnville, Ore./McMinnville) hit a trio of Centennial Conference (CC)-qualifying standards to lead McDaniel at the Orange and Maroon Classic hosted by Susquehanna in women's indoor track and field action on Friday.
Lawson paced the Green Terror at the non-scoring meet, finishing sixth in the 60 hurdles with a time of 10.30 seconds in the finals. She was also eighth in the 400 with a time of 1:04.48 and 14th in the 200 with a time of 28.70 seconds to hit the conference standard in all three events.
Lawson turned in a personal-best time of 10.18 in the prelims of the 60 hurdles to rank fouth all-time.
Chloe Allen-Gorman (Portland, Ore./Lincoln) recorded the top place for the squad, finished third in the 800 with a time of 2:26.90 to hit the conference-qualifying time in her first time at the distance this season.
Shantae Byro (Baltimore, Md./Northwestern) finished seventh in the triple jump, leaping 9.83m. Her CC-qualifying jump ranks sixth on the program's all-time list. Byro was also eighth in the long jump, also hitting the CC mark with a jump of 4.60 meters to place ninth all-time. She was also 16th in the 200 with a conference-qualifying time of 28.88 seconds.
Arielle Latourette (Easton, Pa./Easton Area) placed seventh in the long jump, hitting the CC mark in her first try at the event. Her jump of 4.71 meters also ranks eighth all-time. She also finished 27th in the 200 with a time of 29.71 seconds.
Kelly Gibson (Yardley, Pa./Pennington [N.J.]) finished eighth overall in the high jump, clearing a CC-qualifying height of 1.47 meters. The height bettered her collegiate best by three-quarters of an inch for sixth place on the program's all-time list.
Rebecca Debinski (Sykesville, Md./Century) and Beth Lang (Eldersburg, Md./Century) placed 12th and 13th, respectively, in the mile. Debinski finished in a time of 6:04.36 while Lang followed her across the line in a time of 6:08.69.
Amelia Lawrence (Cabin John, Md./Walt Whitman) and Kelsey Minyon (Millville, Del./Indian River) placed 22nd (12:50.50) and 25th (13:01.63), respectiely, in the 3000 to round out the McDaniel competitors.
The Green Terror returns to action at the Patriot Games hosted by George Mason on Saturday, Jan. 31.
