BALTIMORE, Md. – McDaniel won all six singles matches in straight sets to cap a 9-0 win over Notre Dame (Md.) in non-conference women's tennis action on Saturday.
Danielle Cloney (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) led the Green Terror (1-1) with a 2-0 day in which she did not drop a game, winning her fifth singles match 6-0, 6-0 after teaming with Dana Waskiewicz (Abington, Md./Harford Technical) for an 8-0 win at third doubles.
Natalie Smith led the Gators (0-5) with three games won.
Maddy Simmons (Bowie, Md./Bowie) and Tori Simmons (Bowie, Md./Bowie) notched an 8-1 win at No. 1 doubles while Laura Pollard (Federalsburg, Md./Colonel Richardson) and Winsome Schauer (Hartford, Conn./Watkinson School) teamed for an 8-1 win at No. 2 doubles.
Maddy Simmons won 6-0, 6-0 at first singles while Tori was a 6-0, 6-1 winner at second singles.
Pollard also dropped just one game in singles, winning 6-1, 6-0 at No. 4.
Schauer was a 6-2, 6-0 winner at No. 3 singles while Waskiewicz won 6-1, 6-2 at No. 6.
The Green Terror returns to action at Trinity (D.C.) on Wednesday, Oct. 1. Match time is 4 p.m.
