LEWISBURG, Pa. – Chloe Allen-Gorman (Portland, Ore./Lincoln) finished fifth in the mile to lead McDaniel at the Bison Opener hosted by Bucknell in season-opening women's indoor track and field action on Saturday.
Allen-Gorman was one of two Green Terror athletes to hit Centennial Conference (CC)-qualifying standards at the non-scoring meet. She turned in a time of 5:28.38.
Shantae Byro (Baltimore, Md./Northwestern) hit a pair of conference standards, qualifying in the 60 and 200. She finished 23rd overall in the 60 with a time of 8.38 seconds, debuting sixth on the program's all-time list. Byro was also 14th in the 200 with a time of 27.88.
Claire Lawson (McMinnville, Ore./McMinnville) missed the ECAC-qualifying time by 0.69 seconds in the 500, turning in a time of 1:22.69 to win her section and finish ninth overall. The time also ranks third on the program's all-time.
Arielle Latourette (Easton, Pa./Easton Area) finished 14th in the same event, debuting in ninth place all-time with a mark of 1:30.63.
Rebecca Debinski (Sykesville, Md./Century) led a quartet of McDaniel runners across the line in the 3,000, finishing sixth in a time of 11:55.51.
Kelsey Minyon (Millville, Del./Indian River) was seventh (12:12.31) while Amelia Lawrence (Cabin John, Md./Walt Whitman) and Beth Lang (Eldersburg, Md./Century) were eighth (12:32.20) and ninth (13:57.81), respectively.
Lawson, Latourette, Debinski and Allen-Gorman also combined to finish 17th in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 4:28.39.
The Green Terror returns to action at the Orange and Maroon Classic hosted by Susquehanna on Friday, Jan. 16.
