WESTMINSTER, Md. – Goucher swept doubles play en route to a 6-1 victory over McDaniel in non-conference women's tennis action on Friday.
Tori Simmons (Bowie, Md./Bowie) led the Green Terror (2-2) with a 6-2, 6-2 victory at No. 2 singles.
Alex Walsh led a trio of double winners for the Gophers (3-0), winning at the top flights in both singles and doubles. Walsh teamed with Kelsey Turner for an 8-6 win at first doubles before notching a 6-4, 6-4 win at first singles.
Emily Ruff was also a double winner, partnering with Claire Donnelly for an 8-5 win at second doubles before winning 6-1, 6-3 at third singles.
Alice Goldstein-Plesser teamed with Leigh Oehrig for an 8-4 win at third doubles for winning fourth singles, 6-0, 6-0.
Fifth and sixth singles were not finished due to darkness.
The Green Terror is scheduled to open the spring at home against Swarthmore on Saturday, Mar. 21.
