SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Becky Kaler (Jefferson, Md./Brunswick) finished second in the mile to lead McDaniel at the Orange and Maroon Classic hosted by Susquehanna in women's indoor track and field action on Friday.
Kaler finished with a time of 5:38.07 to lead a group of seven top-10 showings by the Green Terror at the non-scoring meet. Her time was also one of 10 Centennial Conference (CC)-qualifying marks achieved on the day.
Kelsey Dickman (Abington, Md./Bel Air) finished fourth in the shot put with a toss of 10.10 meters.
Jasmine McCormick (Antioch, Calif./Holy Name) had a pair of top-10 showings. She was seventh in the high jump, clearing a CC-qualifying height of 1.47 meters. She was also a leg of the 4x200-meter relay, which finished sixth with a time of 1:54.16. Taylor Stillings (Eldersburg, Md./Liberty), Jasmine Scott (Derwood, Md./Bullis) and Claire Lawson (McMinnville, Ore./McMinnville) joined McCormick on the relay.
McCormick also finished sixth in the 60 hurdles preliminaries with a time of 10.41 seconds, which ranks fourth all-time, knocking Lawson out of the finals. McCormick was then called for a false start in the finals. Lawson's time ranks fifth all-time. Both are conference-qualifying marks.
Scott was fourth to advance to the finals of the 60 with a CC-qualifying time of 8.37 seconds. She finished sixth in the finals with a time of 8.42.
Scott, who was making her season debut at the meet, was also 10th in the 200 with a time of 28.66 seconds, hitting the conference mark in that event as well.
McCormick rounded out the qualifiers, finishing 14th in the shot put (9.36 meters) and 17th in the long jump (4.48).
The Green Terror returns to action at the Patriot Games hosted by George Mason on Saturday, Jan. 26.
