Franklin & Marshall defeats McDaniel, 7-0

LANCASTER, Pa. – Valeri Harteg recorded a pair of wins to lead Franklin & Marshall to a 7-0 victory over McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) women's tennis action on Tuesday.

Harteg led the way in singles with a 6-0, 6-0 win in the No. 3 slot for the Diplomats (1-10, 1-4 CC), who notched their first win of the season.

Brittany Starlings (Mt. Airy, Md./Linganore) and Elise Un-O'Meara (Bowie, Md./Elizabeth Seton) led the Green Terror (1-10, 0-5 CC), winning three games apiece in singles play.

Anya Sahaydachny defeated Starling 6-1, 6-2 at No. 1 singles while Chelsea Bush was a 6-2, 6-1 victor over Un-O'Meara at No. 5.

Harteg partnered with Shannon Littlefield for an 8-0 win at No. 2 doubles. Littlefield added a 6-1, 6-0 victory at fourth singles.

Sahaydachny and Danielle Weiner, who won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2 singles, teamed for an 8-0 win at first doubles.

Third doubles and sixth singles were not contested.

McDaniel returns to action at Muhlenberg on Saturday. Match time is 1 p.m.
