Green Terror opens 2011 with strong showing
LEWISBURG, Pa. – Lindsay
Wilson (Catonsville, Md./Seton Keough) won the mile in her
first action in the event this season to lead McDaniel at the
Gulden Relays hosted by Bucknell in women's indoor track and field
action on Saturday.
Wilson turned in a time of 5:23.30 for the fifth-best
performance in program history, giving her now four of the top five
times on the list.
Wilson also ran the leadoff leg of the 4x800-meter relay, which
finished fifth in a time of 10:37.60.
Jasmine
Scott (Derwood, Md./Bullis) and Sarah
Byron (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) each reached Centennial Conference
(CC)-qualifying marks in the 60-meter dash. Scott finished fifth in
the finals with a personal-best time of 8.25 seconds to crack the
top 10 all-time. Byron was 10th in a time of 8.54.
Missy
Black (West Grove, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) added a conference
qualifier in the mile with a time of 5:40.00 to finish ninth.
Emily
Peoples (Wilmington, Del./Brandywine) was fifth in the 3,000
with a CC-qualifying time of 12:13.01.
Peoples, Black and Katie
Corson (Ocean View, N.J./Ocean City) finished ninth in the 400
(1:27.52) and was also part of the 4x200-meter relay that recorded
a time of 1:56.24.
Byron, Scott and Jen
Garnett (Los Altos, Calif./Homestead) rounded out the quartet
in the relay.
Kelsey
Dickman (Bel Air, Md./Bel Air) was the lone competitor in the
field events, tossing a throw of 11.16 meters in the shot put to
finish sixth and earn a CC-qualifying mark.
The Green Terror returns to action at the Susquehanna
Invitational on Jan. 23.
