Green Terror downs Stevenson
OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Jamie Latham (Bethlehem, Pa./Saucon
Valley) won twice, including notching an 8-0 win at first
singles, to lead McDaniel to a 6-3 victory over Stevenson in
non-conference women's tennis action on Friday.
The Green Terror (2-7) won two of the three doubles matches and
then won four of the six singles matches, which were competed in
pro-set format.
Stephanie Eyler led the Mustangs (1-2) with an
8-0 win at No. 3 singles.
Latham opened her day with an 8-6 win at second doubles, teaming
with Sara Yost (Westminster, Md./Francis Scott
Key) for the victory.
Brittany Starlings (Mt. Airy, Md./Linganore)
and Kristina Shavirov (Perkasie, Pa.) also won
twice for McDaniel, teaming for an 8-6 win at first doubles.
Starlings won at No. 2 singles 8-2 while Shavirov was victorious at
No. 4 singles, 8-4.
Jessica Gelber (Tequesta, Fla.) rounded out the
Green Terror winners, taking an 8-2 win at fifth singles.
McDaniel returns to action at Hood on Tuesday. Match time is 3
p.m.
